I earned my bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati, where I graduated cum laude. I have since had many years of experience working as a private nanny and tutor for a number of families. I've worked with students from five to seventeen years old, and taught a range of subjects, although my preference leans towards science-based subjects, simply because that's where my interests and education have been focused. I am able and qualified to tutor many other subjects, though, including reading and writing, essay writing and editing, AP subjects, and more. I have also been successful assisting students as they prepared for standardized tests like the ACT, PSAT, and others. No matter what subject I work on with each student, I introduce components of critical thinking, as it is this ability to analyze information and apply it intelligently that leads to success in any school subject, and in life, as well. By challenging my students to use the knowledge and skills they already possess to figure out how to attack new problems, I help them truly learn subjects in their entirety, rather than just preparing them to spit out the answers on the test.
